If the only thing keeping me hanging on is knowing that if I give up everything will fall apart, Should I still be hanging on?

Always hang on because you could never appreciate anything in life if the value of it was so easy to give up. It's the ability to hold on that gives us a meaning in ourselves.

@remedy: Not entirely true. One first need to assess if the said issue is worth hanging on for.

When someone starts to question themselves about whether to hang on to something, it clearly shows that internally or consciously the issue is causing her displeasure, stress or uncertainty.

For example, if I'm satisfied with my current job I wouldn't question myself should I be hanging on to it. Right? Only when my job starts giving me problems, stress or displeasure, then I would start to question whether should I hang on to this job.
